What is the eligibility criteria required to apply for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Exam?
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) stenographer is a national-level competitive entrance test held by the SSC to recruit candidates for non-gazetted General Central Service Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts in various Central Government Ministries/Departments, as well as in several States and Union Territories.
SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2022:
Aspirants must check the eligibility conditions before applying for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2022. Candidates must meet the authorities’ nationality, age, and educational credentials requirements.
1. Nationality:
The candidate must be either:
- A Citizen of India.
- A Subject of Bhutan.
- A Subject of Nepal.
- A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before the 1st of January 1962 to stay permanently in India.
- A person of Indian origin who has permanently settled in Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam.
2. Age limit:
As of August 1, 2022, the candidates’ minimum and maximum ages should be 18 and 27 years, respectively. The following relaxation of the maximum age limit will be provided:

SSC Steno Educational qualification:
· Candidates must have passed a recognized board/class institution’s 12th exam, and degrees/diplomas achieved through Open and Distance Learning will be considered if they have been approved by the UGC’s Distance Education Bureau.
